Q-Why do I need a home inspection?

A- A home inspection is an opportunity to thoroughly investigate the home you’re potentially going to be purchasing. It’s important to understand that a quality home inspector will find some issues with every home, even a newly built home. One of the top reasons to have a home inspection when buying a home is to determine if there are any structural issues with the home. The structure of a home is one of the most significant components to a home.

Q-What does a home inspection include?
A- An inspection includes exterior, structure, electrical system, hot water system, drainage, insulation and ventilation, interiors, central air conditioning, and heating.
Q- How much time does it take to do the inspection?
A- The average house will take about 4 hours to inspect. The time can vary depending on the size, age, maintenance level of the home, and the duration of discussions between the inspector and the client.
Q- What are your qualifications?
A- I am a North Carolina licensed home inspector who continues to stay current and takes professional development courses. I have 30+ years of experience building custom homes and commercial buildings. I worked with my family's business Woodie Construction which has been in business since the 1960's.
Q- How soon can I have an inspection done?
A- I will schedule an appointment as soon as possible, which can include weekends. I send my reports by email, but I can also mail you a paper copy if requested.
